Hello. I’m a collage artist. I live and work in Westchester County in the NY Metro area. I love paper and wrote My Life is About Glue. I want to get things to stick together and stay connected.
An artist friend introduced me to collage more than 25 years ago and now my studio practice is painting and painted paper collage. She showed me how she worked with ordinary magazine papers and I discovered I love working with papers. It’s about touch. Paper is tactile and collage is about touch. I have a mission to share and promote the art of collage with the broadest possible audience.
My photo (above) was taken at a reception recently at Upstream Gallery in Hastings on Hudson, NY. I exhibit my work at that gallery.

BTW: I commend your taking WordPress on. Really like the look here better, but find the system a bit harder to learn that Blogger — which I am totally tried of dealing with all it’s little bugs…

I don’t do workshops in NYC. I teach at the Pelham Art Center in Pelham. It’s a short train ride via Metro North from Grand Central Terminal and a quick walk from the train station. My classes are Monday nights and are open to all skill levels. Let me know if you are interested.

Love your colours and fantasy. I make collage on oil painting on canvas. I wonder: can I use any varnish to finish and protect the whole work? To make the paper integrate more with the painting? Thank you, love, anna

I am not sure they knew each other personally, but it’s possible. They probably exhibited in the same arena. Anne Ryan was much older than Lee Krasner.
Current times appear more demanding than recent history. Cecil Touchon opened ‘book on quarantine project’ on Collage Poetry, The Cut and Paste Poets. Good to see how other artists manage… The “united” SA still under heavy burden of the big C. Here 2nd surge expected. In 10-15 years we will know how art responds to the many threats to society.
